e|net Named “Telecommunications Company of the Year”

e|net, the company responsible for managing the State’s Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), has won the coveted ICT Excellence “Telecommunications Company of the Year” award for 2009.

Now in its fifth year of trading, e|net has an annual turnover in excess of €9m. and has just completed its fifth consecutive year of double digit revenue growth. The company employs 35 staff and partners with industry leading service providers such as Magnet Networks and Complete Telecoms, both of whom were also nominated for this award, as well as BT, Vodafone, O2, and UPC, among others.

Welcoming the award, e|net CEO, Conal Henry stated: “e|net is delighted to be recognised as the Telecommunication Company of the Year. This award highlights the contribution that the MANs, as well as the e|net offering have made to the telecoms industry in general and the development of next generation telecoms services in regional Ireland in particular. This award is a great endorsement of e|net and its employees.”

Currently in its ninth year, the ICT Excellence Awards is Ireland’s most prestigious and respected awards programme in the ICT sector, and seeks to recognise Ireland’s outstanding achievers in the industry.
