euNetworks Welcomes e|net To Euro-One Network Collaboration

Press release
27th Jun 2007

euNetworks and e|net today announced that e|net has joined ‘euro-one’ (www.euro-one.com) – a newly launched collaboration of Europe’s leading fiber optic network providers to deliver infrastructure and next generation networking solutions connecting Central, Eastern and Western Europe, the US and Canada. euro-one is conceived of and facilitated by euNetworks, owner and operator of one of Europe’s highest capacity fiber networks and provider of mission critical communications infrastructure.

Exponential growth in corporate and Internet traffic continues to drive demand for high-bandwidth, high-resilient and high-performance networking solutions that can be delivered seamlessly, quickly and with 100% reliability. Traditionally, Corporates and carriers alike are required to manage a multitude of communications providers, all of whom deliver a myriad of solutions on multiple protocols and under widely disparate Service Level Agreements. euro-one is the marriage of the fiber networks of euNetworks (connecting Ireland, UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany), e|net (Ireland), Exatel (Poland), FIBRELAC (Switzerland), Geo (UK), Hibernia Atlantic (US, Canada, Ireland, UK, Continental Europe), Jazztel (Spain), Neo Telecoms (France), Net4Net (Czech Republic) and Retelit (Italy).

Collectively, the euro-one network, at over 85,000kms in length, is one of the largest in the world, and connects in excess of 350 cities in Europe and North America. Uniquely, each member of euro-one owns and operates their own fiber infrastructure, offering true next generation network services and solutions quickly, efficiently and with total operational control. Through a high degree of co-operation in sales, products and operations, the euro-one collaboration unites fiber providers from Ireland, France, Poland, UK, US/Canada, Italy, Czech Republic, Spain and Switzerland to deliver long-haul to last-mile solutions under one SLA, one single bill and delivering one consistent customer experience. As all euro-one members distinctively own and operate all-fiber backbone and valuable “last-mile” metropolitan networks, solutions are delivered door2door throughout Western, Central and Eastern Europe and North America.

Conal Henry, Managing Director, e|net said; “e|net is delighted to be part of such a strong collaboration of network providers, connecting our networks in Ireland with Continental Europe, UK and North America. e|net is presently operating in 27 cities and towns within Ireland providing our customers with cutting edge products and services. We continually strive to address all of our customers needs and we believe that by being part of this collaboration it will enable us to provide our customers with a further extended and enhanced network reach globally. This collaboration is yet another example of how the MANs are putting Regional Ireland on the global stage in terms of communications.”

Noel Meaney, Chief Executive Officer, euNetworks said: “Having initiated euro-one – a collaboration that we believe to be one of the most innovative partnerships the telecoms Industry has seen for sometime – euNetworks is delighted that e|net has agreed to participate. As fiber providers we are aware of the immense value of our infrastructure but before have been constrained in delivering single source solutions by our network reach. This extended network and streamlined engagement process will revolutionise the delivery of high capacity solutions in Europe, providing Corporates and carriers with a single source provider for mission critical communications.”
euro-one and e|net – Connecting Regional Ireland with Continental Europe and North America on fiber
For the first time this unique association will enable Corporates and carriers alike with single source fiber throughout Ireland and connected to the UK, Europe, the US and Canada. This converged fiber platform will deliver high performance, high capacity solutions to Corporates, carriers and service providers throughout Ireland using e|net and the MANs (Metropolitan Area Networks) – all under a single service level agreement and leveraging off dense metropolitan networks measuring almost 1000kms in length. Services will be rolled out to 27 cities and towns, including Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway to name but a few.

euro-one and e|net – Robust Network For Mission Critical Networking Solutions
The euro-one collaboration delivers to the customer carrier grade fiber networking services including Wavelengths, Ethernet, IP and dedicated fiber on a unified network. euro-one’s highly robust infrastructure presents a converged platform for the rollout of mission critical communications solutions, where members can interconnect at any of the 1000 Points of Presence or 350 datacenters that are on-net.

euro-one and e|net – Established Providers
All euro-one members, such as e|net, are vastly experienced in the design, delivery and management of mission critical solutions leveraging their wholly owned fiber infrastructure. All are long-established providers with a proven track record, and boast impressive client lists of blue chip Corporate and carrier customers. euNetworks clients number amongst them some of Europe’s leading enterprise, carrier and service provider customers, including The Irish Times, Digiweb, Hosting365, ezetop, Endemol BV, AMS-IX and Deutsche Börse (Frankfurt Stock Exchange). e|net’s impressive client list includes Verizon, Cable and Wireless, HEAnet, Vodafone, Magnet, BT, to name but a few – all of whom are now enabled with the euro-one network.
