e|net has today announced that it has awarded a five year, €1,500,000 deal, for secure co-location facilities and managed services to Data Electronics, the co-location and managed IT service provider.
Under the terms of the deal, the co-location area provided to e|net will be a wholly dedicated private suite that supplies a fully redundant environment for e|net’s mission critical equipment. By hosting in the carrier-neutral date centre, e|net will also have physical access to over 40 national and international carriers.
e|net’s expansion in Data Electronics highlights its continued growth and the associated increased need for capacity. The move is part of e|net’s overall strategy to upgrade and future-proof the network in advance of increased bandwidth demands and a full migration to carrier Ethernet.
e|net CEO, Conal Henry said, “This is a significant investment for e|net and is further evidence of our ability to deliver a world class infrastructure for the carrier community. The MANs are central to telecoms provision in Ireland and this deal integrates them further and strengthens e|net’s ability to provide a truly national network.”

Data Electronics operates two Dublin data centres, comprising of technical floor space of over 125,000 sq. ft., with the first phase of their newly opened green data centre in North Dublin in operation since mid-2008.
