enet Celebrates International Women’s Day

enet, has marked International Women’s Day (IWD) with participation and attendance at an International Women’s Day Lunch. The event, which is hosted by An Cosán celebrated the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Bartley McElroy, enet Chief Executive said: “I am delighted to be at today’s celebration lunch. At enet, we really value diversity and are very focused on attracting and retaining talented people, both female and male. In 2017, enet set out to target a 40% improvement in hiring women, and I’m delighted to say we achieved this goal.”

Michelle Ryan, enet Organisational Development Manager added: “enet is very keen to champion and promote women in technology. In the last six months, we hosted a number of women’s network events aimed at empowering women in their careers. As well as individual development, this is key to transforming business and economic growth.  The events were a great opportunity to gain inspiration and develop new expertise, build confidence and resilience. We hope to bring organise more inspirational events in the coming months.”

An Cosán has its roots in the provision in community education programmes for women and has a long association with International Women’s Day, which is now recognised each year on 8th March.
