Eishtec, the South-East based customer contact solutions provider, with sites in Waterford and Wexford, are currently scaling up their regional operations and will have a total workforce of 750 by year end.

The company currently employs 400 people in its Waterford site at the Cleaboy Business Park, with a further 100 due to come on stream. Additionally, 250 jobs are currently being created as part of a major expansion at new custom built facility in Drinagh, Co. Wexford. This expansion is on the back of a contract to provide customer service sales support for Orange, one of the UK’s leading mobile phone brands.

The South-East is proving an ideal location for the business as it has a long tradition and established track record for customer services in the internet, landline and mobile markets. Additionally, both Eishtec facilities are accessing mission critical superfast internet connectivity and other communications solutions via the State’s Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), operated by enet.

Brian Barry, Eishtec co-founder, recently stated: “The South-East region has suffered more than most during this period of economic decline, so we are particularly delighted that our growth and development has led to the creation of hundreds of jobs in the area.” He added, “The Eishtec model is underpinned by technology and access to high capacity bandwidth and telecoms connectivity was a critical factor in site locations. Thankfully, in both Waterford and Wexford, we had access to the Metropolitan Area Networks which offer us the bandwidth needed to continually improve our client services.”

Conal Henry, enet CEO said, “We usually see businesses of this scale being attached to Foreign Direct Investment, so it’s really encouraging to see an Irish company presenting this level of opportunity.” He continued, “For enet’s part, we’re pleased that the MANs can yet again support businesses and enable them to do what they do best. Eishtec’s connections to the Waterford City and Wexford Town MANs highlight the significant impact that MANs have on the creation of jobs in regional Ireland.”

Eishtec was established in 2010 by three experienced contact centre professionals, Heather Reynolds, Colm Tracey and Brian Barry, who between them have over 60 years combined experience in the contact centre business.
