enet has delivered access to high speed, unlimited capacity fibre connectivity to The Base Enterprise Centre, Stranorlar, Co. Donegal. Local connections are now being delivered via FASTCOM who will be managing the service and supporting the businesses.
This is a very exciting time for the Twin Towns, Ballybofey and Stranorlar, as it is now the only community owned enterprise centre in Donegal County connected to the MAN.

So, what does it mean for businesses?

Businesses in The BASE will now have the capability to avail of 1GB end-to-end fibre directly into their businesses via Fastcom.

In relation to the deal, Conal Henry, enet CEO said: “This deal with Fastcom further signals enets commitment to the provision of fibre infrastructure in regional Ireland, and we’re particularly pleased to be able to offer world class solutions in Donegal. The capacity of our fibre is unlimited and will allow businesses in The BASE to benefit from higher capacity, wholly reliable, non-contended broadband. We already know that there is a link between superfast broadband and innovation, and this new network in Donegal will support further enterprise, innovation and investment.”

Commenting on the development, Kieran Doherty, chairman of Ballybofey and Stranorlar Integrated Community Company (BASICC) said: “The demand for superfast internet access continues to grow at an exponential rate. BASICC are committed to doing everything we can to support enterprise development and enabling businesses by providing them with the tools to achieve success. Having this infrastructure means global accessibility at a local level and history in the making for the Twin Towns”
