enet reaches the final of prestigious European Business Awards

Press release
04th Nov 2011

enet has been named as a finalist and Ruban d’Honneur recipient in the 2015/16 European Business Awards. Chosen from 678 National Champions enet is now one of 110 Ruban d’Honneur recipients chosen from across Europe, and one of 10 recipients selected as ‘Business of the Year’ in its category.

enet’s selection for this award was based on their substantial growth, development and market connectivity which has been increasing year on year. In the past ten years the company has connected thousands of premises through over 60 service providers, and their network has expanded from 1,800km to over 5,000km, with the addition of a newly acquired ubiquitous nationwide wireless network.

The European Business Awards, now in its 9th year, engaged with over 32,000 companies from 33 countries for these awards. Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “To survive in this economic climate is hard enough, so to innovate, prosper and grow in the way this year’s Ruban D’Honneur recipients have is truly remarkable. Europe needs more companies like these. Well done to enet.”

Commenting on the news Conal Henry, enet CEO, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be chosen as a Ruban D’Honneur recipient for Business of the Year in our category. Since the company’s acquisition in 2013 our new investors have been incredibly encouraging of growth and development and, consequently, enet has, and continues to, rapidly expand. We are continuously seeking out and creating new opportunities for growth and we look forward to being able to implement some new project and deliver fibre roll outs throughout small communities in rural Ireland. We are still also in the running for the National Public Champion so I ask for everyone to please show us your support and vote for us in the public vote.”

A face-to-face interview with the judges will now be undertaken in the hopes of being named as the overall winners at the Gala Ceremony in June.

Running alongside the independent judging part of the competition is the public vote, which will decide the ‘National Public Champions’ of the competition for each country, for which enet has submitted a video. The European Business Awards was created to celebrate and promote business success and support the development of a stronger and more successful business community throughout Europe. The independent Awards programme, designed to recognise and promote excellence, best practice and innovation in the European business community, is sponsored by RSM, ELITE and PR Newswire.
