enet, Ireland’s largest open-access network operator has been named one of European Broadband Awards 2017 Finalist, within the Openness and Competition category.
The award ceremony took place mid-November in London at the European Broadband Awards 2017 with attendance of Phil Hogan, The European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Crețu and Commissioner for Agriculture & Rural Development on the night.
enet CEO, Conal Henry commented, “We are delighted to be one of the finalist at the European Broadband Awards, within the openness and competition category as it highlights what we successfully do every day at enet, to have a truly open access networks and operated on a carrier neutral bases. It also emphasises the work of enet’s employees to achieve this goal. I want to congratulate the category winner and all the other finalist who are all dedicated to achieving openness within the market.”
The projects were selected in five categories focusing on innovative models of financing, cost reduction, territorial cohesion, socio-economic impact and competition. The projects were exemplary projects for the other regions and organisations planning broadband rollout.
