Press release
09th Mar 2012

enet, has today, the 9th March, announced a self-funded extension of the MAN infrastructure to Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.

In total, almost 11 km of duct, sub duct and fibre optic cable has been deployed across the local area connecting the IDA Industrial Estate in Carrigtwohill to this world class network. With one business already connected and a number of interested parties, demand in the local area is seen to be very positive.

Conal Henry, enet CEO said, “enet is delighted to announce that MAN connectivity has reached Carrigtwohill. Our experience has shown that the existence of a MAN has a major impact on boosting the range, quality and value of communications solutions for businesses.” He went on to say, “One of enet’s major objectives is to dramatically reduce the digital divide. The fact that Carrigtwohill is now MAN-enabled means that the area can now compete with Dublin as well as other major cities around the world.”

Carrigtwohill now joins other local areas, namely Cork City, Blarney, Carrigaline, Ringaskiddy, Passage West and Little Island in having access to network.
