Enet Designated As Essential Services

Mar 30, 2020

As a result of the evolving COVID-19 situation, Enet would like to update you on a number of points.

Designated As Essential Services

Following announcements by the Irish Government on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th March, Enet has been designated as an essential service provider and as such, we will continue to operate as normal. We have already ensured that our staff (e.g. NOC, IT, Engineering) have been provided with documentation that confirms our status as an essential service. This designation also applies to our contractors, who carry out vital operational elements on our behalf and our suppliers of key equipment. Appropriate documentation has also been provided to them.

These steps will ensure that our staff, as well as the staff of our contractors, will be able to travel for operational reasons despite the current restrictions.

Business Continuity

Enet has already implemented a number of precautionary measures to protect our staff while fully maintaining operational capabilities.

Our leadership team reviews our Business Continuity Plan (BCP) on a daily basis.

Network Operations Centre (NOC)

Our Network Operations Centre (NOC) remains fully operational and continues to run on a 24 x 7 x 366 basis, as normal.

New Orders

Should customers wish to place orders, we are continuing to accept them and where we can deliver new services and upgrades remotely, we will continue to do so.

However, Enet are now prioritising sites that are deemed essential (e.g. hospitals) or are supporting the provision of bandwidth for remote working (e.g. mobile base stations).

Further Updates

We are continuously monitoring developments and will continue to keep you updated, as and when relevant information becomes available.

Lastly, Enet’s focus is 1) the health and wellbeing of our staff, 2) the provision of important service and business continuity for our customers, and 3) protecting the Enet business.
