Enet expands leadership team with appointment of John Gilvarry as Chief Technology Officer

Enet, Ireland’s largest wholesale, open-access network provider, has appointed John Gilvarry as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In his new role John will focus on further enhancing Enet’s technological expertise, as it continues to bring high-quality bandwidth services to retail service providers and end users throughout Ireland.

With over 22 years’ experience in the industry, John has wide-ranging expertise and a thorough understanding of telecoms in Ireland and international markets. He joins from Digicel where his most recent role was as Group CTO for Digicel Business.

Prior to this he has held a number of roles in the mobile industry in Ireland and the UK, including O2, Vilicom, Meteor and Hutchison.

Welcoming the announcement, Peter McCarthy, Group CEO at Enet, said: "Over the past year we’ve made a number of senior appointments as the business continues to grow and enhance the wholesale services available to our customers. With over 120 employees based in Limerick and Dublin, Enet currently works with over 80 retail service providers, including Vodafone, Imagine and Three Ireland to bring high-quality broadband and wireless to more than one million end users throughout Ireland.

The company has recently won the National Innovation Award as part of the European Business Awards (EBAs), one of the world’s largest cross-industry, cross border business competitions.
