Enet launches Cloud Connect and Direct Internet Access for UK market
Enet, Ireland’s largest open access network provider, has launched two new products – Cloud Connect and Direct Internet Access – into the UK market, as it continues to expand its overseas presence. The product launches follow the appointment of the business’s first International Account Manager in the UK.
In this new role, Jason Alderton will oversee the growth of the international business, enabling UK telecommunications firms to sell their services to Irish broadband providers via Enet’s wholesale infrastructure.
Enet’s infrastructure integrates proprietary fibre and wireless networks with State-owned and third-party networks to offer ubiquitous network coverage across Ireland.
Enet has introduced Cloud Connect to ensure that enterprises can access the cloud through a more secure, reliable and consistent connection via a dedicated private line, without the additional expense of datacentre colocation and port rental. It providers secure access to data and is readily scalable to meet increased demand or changing business patterns.
Direct Internet Access (DIA) has been designed with the specific needs of UK corporate customers in mind. With access to a wide range of bandwidths up to 10Gbps, this service is suitable for corporate enterprises of all sizes seeking to establish a high performance, reliable connection to the Internet.
Speaking about the launch, David Eyre, Enet Chief Commercial Officer said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of two further products for the UK telecoms market, both of which are a testament to our continued commitment to creating value for our UK customers.
Both Cloud Connect and DIA offer a variety of connectivity options into Ireland, and, together with our new International Account Manager, will ensure ready access to high-quality connectivity.”
Enet operates the largest alternative wholesale telecoms network in Ireland, which comprises of over 5,400 Km of fibre infrastructure, including the Irish State’s Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), proprietary metro networks, a unique dark fibre backhaul infrastructure, as well as one of the largest licensed wireless networks in the country.
The company currently works with over 80 different service providers to bring high-quality data connectivity, broadband and wireless to more than one million end users throughout Ireland and is set to be a key sub-contractor in the delivery of Ireland’s National Broadband Plan (NBP).
