Managed services – SDH

enet’s suite of Managed SDH services provide dedicated fibre links to enhance data and voice communications for your customers or in your own network. The advanced design of the Metropolitan Area Networks can ensure outstanding reliability and millisecond service restoral, and the extensive local and national coverage, paired with enets service offerings can help you meet your all of your customers’ communications needs.

enet offers a complete suite of Managed SDH services across the Metropolitan Area Network locations. Service is delivered locally via a fibre network, diversely routed (east and west) to the enet Co-Location facility with capabilities for onward connectivity.


SDH - service details

The required service is delivered to the consumer premises via carrier-class Network Termination Unit (NTU). 

Available terminations include:





2 Mb/s

Electrical termination, presented to the consumer premises


34 Mb/s

Electrical termination, presented to the consumer premises


45 Mb/s

Electrical termination, presented to the consumer premises


155 Mb/s

Optical termination, presented to the consumer premises

NOTE: E1, E3 and DS3 can be terminated at G.703 balanced 120 Ohm twisted pair or unbalanced 75 Ohm, at customer request.

  • NTU is from a product suite of next generation SDH products. Further information on equipment specifications is available upon request
  • A clean protected power supply is required for the NTU (UPS, DC etc.)
  • Interconnect point is the port on the enet NTU. Internal wiring is the responsibility of the customer
  • Customer is responsible for attenuating or amplifying light levels where necessary if interconnecting with enets equipment
