enet’s Ethernet Product Suite is next-generation Ethernet service at its best. It is designed to give customers scalable, affordable, end-to-end transport. The broad scalability, price and performance potential of enet’s Ethernet Service cannot be matched by traditional data networks. It allows customers to offer Ethernet protocols at various speeds between end-customer locations without them having to convert legacy interfaces.

enet offers a complete suite of Managed Ethernet services across the Metropolitan Area Network locations. Service is delivered locally via a fibre network, diversely routed (east and west) to the enet Co-Location facility with capabilities for onward connectivity.

High-bandwidth Ethernet is available in a variety of bandwidths so end customer needs can be met.

 

Ethernet - service details

The required service is delivered to the consumer premises via a carrier-class Layer 2 switch (Network Terminating Unit).

Network architecture

From the enet Co-Location facility, the ring is lit at the appropriate level. Each Network Terminating Unit (NTU) will have diverse routing (east and west) to minimise disruption to any delivered service.

 

  • NTU is VLAN aware switch from the enet suite of products. Further information on equipment specifications is available upon request
  • The customer is responsible for the provision of a clean protected power supply for the NTU (UPS etc.)
  • The interconnect/demarcation point is the port on the front of the enet NTU
  • The customer is responsible for shaping the traffic in line with the purchased traffic profile
  • Metro traffic with underlying SDH transport will utilise protection; Metro traffic with underlying Ethernet transport will utilise Rapid Spanning Tree Protection
  • Delivery of circuits to DEG is based on one port being allocated to each carrier for interconnect purposes
  • Any additional ports will be treated as separate drops and may be charged at additional levy
